Hello, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog. But don’t think I stopped blogging, because that’s absolutely untrue. I’ve been working on a few different projects throughout the current school year. And I’m juggling classes in between all of that. So it’s been tough to provide myself with time to post in this blog. But I plan to keep track of my latest endeavor through this blog (since it relates completely to the topic of this blog).
But now onto the actual challenge to which I referred to in my title. This challenge involves the use of Google Adsense. I decided I needed to set up a challenge or goal for myself in order to motivate myself to earn more and get myself a steady passive income coming in. Then I will use this income and put it through my income budget strategy.
Reasons for the Google Adsense Challenge
I chose to start this challenge for a few different reasons:
- I chose Adsense because I have been using it on both of my blogs that I’m currently running and I have been working towards my first “cash out” for a while now. (You need to have $100 in order for them to make out the check and send it to you.)
- I have been working on a bunch of projects without a set goal or direction. I have been blogging for fun only and haven’t been working on the business end.
- I could use some money to pay towards my student loans (and put in my bank account) that are gathering interest while in school. I have just had more added on for the second semester of my sophomore year. I’m at the halfway point as far as loans.
- Challenges are also just fun. They keep you accountable and it gives you something to work towards. It’s just simply fun to try and reach (and possibly surpass) your goal.

Google Adsense Challenge: Current State

So if you do the math, that’s $100-32.57 = $67.43!
This is the magic number I need to reach. If you break it down, that is $11.24(rounded up to the nearest cent) per month. For my blogs, this is actually quite a bit and is going to take a lot of effort and focus. The most I have made in a month on Adsense is about $1. But I haven’t used Google Adsense that much, so that’s part of the reason.

I will be updating you all on this challenge and about my strategies that seem to be working. The two blogs that will be using Adsense is this one and A Hockey Life. My Youtube Channel also has Adsense set up. So this another possible avenue I may need to take. But only time will tell how I will be making my Adsense money. I will probably add a reward and punishment for achieving or failing this goal, which I will inform you all of when I have come up with the right idea.
